Romeo Valladares, RN

Director of Nursing | Administrator

Romeo is a native of the Rio Grande Valley and was born in McAllen in 1962. He enjoyed a happy childhood in Mission, TX and graduated from Mission High School in 1981.  He answered the call to duty to serve our country during the Iranian Embassy Crisis and served 4 years in the U.S. Marines while stationed at various locations around the United States. Romeo received a number of Meritorious Awards and Recognitions for his service in the Crash Fire and Rescue Unit at the Marine Corps Air Station, El Toro Air Station, in Santa Ana, California. He also served with the American Red Cross in Mexico City during the Mexico City Earthquake in September 1985. 

After his honorable discharge, he attended UTPA and served the City of McAllen as a Fire Fighter from 1986-1991. During this time, he received a number of awards for his service with the City of McAllen Fire Department and Catalina Emergency Services, including service during the Tienda Amigo Building Collapse and Rescue in Brownsville, Texas. 

Romeo graduated from UTPA in 1996 from the school of Nursing and worked for 10 years in various capacities, including Emergency Services, Intensive Care Units, Hyperbaric Services, and Wound Care Departments at Mission Regional Medical Center, Valley Baptist Medical Center, Rio Grande Regional, and Doctors Hospital at Renaissance. 

Romeo is happily married to Lydia Valladares. “She is the most awesome wife a man could ask God for. “

Romeo and Lydia have 2 grown children, Jessica and Henry. He also enjoys spending time with his wonderful grandchildren.  Romeo and Lydia share a home with their rescued four legged friends.

Romeo is active in their church, Our Lady of Sorrows, in McAllen, TX.  He enjoys Photography, Music, Bicycling, Physical Fitness, and tinkering with technology.

Lydia Valladares

Administrator

Lydia was born in Mexico in 1961 and was raised here in the Rio Grande Valley. She graduated from La Joya High School in 1979 and attended UTPA (now the University of Texas – Rio Grande Valley.  Lydia worked in the banking industry for about 6 years and worked for Kittleman, Thomas, and Ramirez for 18 years, after which she decided to retire to join her husband, Romeo, to manage Presidente Home Care.

She and Romeo have enjoyed their marriage and feel blessed to have the opportunity to work together at Presidente Home Care while being able to serve God and their community. Lydia is a parishioner at Our Lady of Sorrows Church in McAllen, TX and is very active in the church.

On her off time, Lydia enjoys spending time with (and spoiling) her grandchildren. “It brings me great joy when I can spoil them.”

She enjoys spending quiet time at Barnes & Noble when she can. Lydia collects books, favorite magazines, antiques, and teddy bears.
